Timing is everything as I set out along the line of poles - do they really need to be that tall - to Holy Island.

Lindisfarne
Iona

Last Legs?

Days 17 and 18 should find me looking over the North Sea. Lindisfarne is cut off during high tide - a ploy by the celtic monks to keep a bit of peace and quiet for their prayers each day. There is a road causeway but I hope to do the hard-core muddy pilgrim's path. Better get a tide table then....

"Everliving God, you called your servants Aidan and Cuthbert to proclaim the Gospel in northern England and gave them loving hearts and gentle spirits: Grant us grace to live as they did, in simplicity, humility and love for the poor; through Jesus Christ, who came among us as one who serves, and who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen."
